Light Brahma or some sort of laced Cochin??

Well, I would sure like to see a picture of your buff brahma, if only so I can compare her looks and size to my buff brahma, whom the folks here tell me is a boy. (Not that I'm disputing that. I'd just love to have some comparison photos, for future reference.)

OK no worries - I'd be happy to share! Ours is huge but her body looks so fluffy, plump, rounded and girlie that I just can't imagine she is a boy. I've been playing the "which chick is a roo?" game with most of them as though it is a sport, but she hasn't been on my concern list! Ours, other than the naked necks, are all supposed to be hens, and I am pretty confident they really all are hens, despite my worrying and research.
I'll get some shots of her tomorrow. I think she is really gorgeous. She is a way better example of the breed standard than my beloved light brahma appears to be!

Hey! Well, sorry it took so long. I am now worried MY buff brahma is a boy after taking these shots and seeing how elongated her tail is, but gosh, she is so friendly and sweet and acts like a girl and her comb is not red at all, so hpefully she is a girl. She is a lot larger than our light brahma but also a lot more beautiful and I doubt there is any relation between the breeding stock so I know I shouldn't compare them.

Also, in the past 2 days both our brahmas have had the foot feathers pecked off quite aggressively by the naked neck/turken we have who we believe is a rooster. He is relocating to a new home today, so hopefully that will put an end to that!

The light brahma is in the foreground of this shot and you can see their faces look similar.

With the light brahma again, stretching her wings.

She moves quickly and isn't as relaxed as my light brahma so it was hard to get good shots!

No red in that comb.

Your Buff Brahma looks like a pullet to me.
Thank you!!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I am glad to hear this as I love her and she had BETTER be a pullet because she is beautiful, sweet and I want to keep her!
Thanks again.

Awe !!!! She looks like my LooLoo did at her age. She's a light Brahma. & my avatar. She was our favorite hen & laid light brown , large, almost round eggs.

I'm going to be the dissenting vote and say SL cochin. A light brahma would not have color on it's head at this point. It would look just like the buff but with white feathers. She's got way too much black. Granted the lacing is pretty bad. You say she has a smaller comb than the buff, I can't tell if it's a single or not.

Take another set of pictures of her.

They're Light Brahmas, not Cochins. The comb is wrong, and the lacing would be reversed.

Here is a photo of my young Light Brahma from a few years ago:

Her color got a bit better after she molted, though still very much hatchery quality:
