Hey everyone, my 20 day old moulard ducks got cold lastnight, down to 70 degrees, so today i hung a 60w lightbulb in the brood to help the coil heat the place, will the light bother them all night?

It might keep them up where they can’t sleep but I am not 100% sure.Hey everyone, my 20 day old moulard ducks got cold lastnight, down to 70 degrees, so today i hung a 60w lightbulb in the brood to help the coil heat the place, will the light bother them all night?
I am sure that would be better a lot better. Just don’t get them to hot. Thanks for the reply, your probably right. I have a 65w dark purple light bulb that you couldnt even read a book under. ill put that in tomorow

Haha thanks, The goal is to get ducks cheaper than youd spend at sobeys. I dont value my own off time for hobbiesPretty interesting set up. 70 degrees F? That is pretty warm.![]()
Yeah, ducks don't need as much heat as they say. Mine were off of the heat lamp for half of the day at 3 weeks. By 4 totally off and in a 60 degree building. I took them out to enjoy the outdoors at lower temps. They have done fine. Mine were put out when the temps were in the 50's at 7 weeks.Haha thanks, The goal is to get ducks cheaper than youd spend at sobeys. I dont value my own off time for hobbies
70 should be okay now but it seys 90 on hatch day. then drop 5 degrees every week and they were 2 weeks old
