Lilly's Life:

Chapter 35

I woke up from someone or something shoving me. “No!” I mumbled and tried moving away.
“Lilly! Wake up!” I know that voice…. I snapped my eyes open.
“Rose?” I turned around. It was her. “Rose!” I went over to her to give her a hug.
“Yes it’s me!” She hugged me back.
“I’m so happy you’re ok!” I yelped. Then I realized something… “I’m hungry.” I said out loud and Rose just laughed at me.
“Alright well let’s go eat. The snow has finally stopped too!”
“Wait. How long have I’ve been asleep? How can you be all happy and warm all the sudden?” I asked a bit confused.
“You slept for five hours, Lil. A lot can happen in five hours.”
I nodded my head. I guess that made sense.
We then headed out in the coop and went to go eat and drink. Man was I thirsty!
When we were done, we decided to go on the various paths the human’s shoveled for us. One led to our pine tree so we decided to take that one.
Once we got there, we plopped down under it and chatted. It sure was beautiful out. With all the snow toppled on trees and the grass, hiding everything that was green.
“What do you think of it?” Rose asked me.
“Breath-taking. I just love snow when it’s beautiful like this. Otherwise I find it as a threat.”
“Why is that?” She asked.
“Well first of all its cold and don’t forget you almost—” I stopped. “It’s just cold in general.”
“What were you going to say?”
“Nothing important really. Hey where’s mom?”
“Don’t try changing the subject, Lil.” She glared at me.
“I just don’t want to talk about it. Ok?” I sighed. I just didn’t want to hurt her feelings.
She shrugged, “Fine.”
There wasn’t much to say so I just admired the snow again. I looked everywhere, wanting to take it all in, when I noticed something…. I squinted. It was gray… It... My eyes went big. The raccoon. I could see it in a tree about 50 yards or so from where me and Rose were at.
“Rose. We need to get out of here. Now.”
“Why? What’s wrong, Lil?”
“The coon. It’s right there.” I pointed at it. She gasped and we started sprinting for the coop.
