I adore my Lexie. She isn't as cuddly as she was as a chick, but when I can get her to slow down and let me hold her, she's still my sweet little chicken-girl and I tell her so every day. Can't take a pic of her right now because she is molting horribly and the only thing keeping her warm is her chicken saddle she wears to protect her bare skin from Hawkeye, poor baby. Even molting, she has not stopped laying.

Boy, Fussy and Red sometimes NOW do it, well I DID feed them beans the other day, whew! Ya know, beans affect chickens about the same as people. Peeeuuu! But Fussy is so darned fastidious. and they NEVER peck at their poop. eeeeuuuuwww! Thats just disgusting. No kisses for Lily!

My BR was JUST like Lily sounds at that age! And she hasn't grown out of it! She was so "assertive" when she was little that I was SURE she was going to turn out to be a cockerel (thus her name Randy became Randie when I realized she WASN'T). Does this look familiar?

She too has the hardest peck of my bunch and does that nasty twisty thing. Ouch!!! I do have to admit though, I still love her. She's my hardy girl. She's not what I'd call "cuddly", but I can pick her up and pet her and even tote her anywhere I want, and I haven't had a problem catching her when I let her out to roam, and....she keeps me endlessly entertained.

Maybe I should have called her "Bruiser"
