lime for fly control

There's not one word of truth on that site.
DE will NOT work when it's wet, so as soon as it goes in your mouth, it's worthless.

It's simple science

you might be right, I know nothing about the science behind it but why is it they use DE in pool filters and in fish tanks then? Seem pretty wet to me in a pool??

Because it's being used to FILTER only and not to "kill parasites"
The filter type is a different form of DE that has been heat treated and is very dangerous to breath

Ok I believe you cuz I know nothing about this but why do you give DE to livestock then as a dewormer and for other pests? Wouldn't be the same idea Or is it because they are eating it with the feed? I know someone that is an avid believer in drinking DE in water. I think it is a little strange myself

It WILL kill insects on their bodies if you dust them with it
It's pointless to feed it to them. It is NOT a "dewormer" no matter how many people say it is
It's mixed with grain to control insects IN the grain, and that is why it was given a "Food Grade" rating

You'll find most of the sites that promote it as a wormer are also trying to SELL you some
There has never been a SCIENTIFIC study that proved it works internally.
If anyone can find one, I'd love to see it

Organic Dewormers ?
Currently, there is great interest in "natural" products as an alternative to pharmaceutical company products in controlling parasites. This category includes herbal dewormers and diatomaceous earth. There are no studies that I know of that suggest that these products have any substantial effect on barber pole worm or other internal parasites. In the case of diatomaceous earth there have been several studies done by parasitologists in different parts of the country that have found no beneficial effect to feeding it or offering it as mineral

It seems to me if DE killed worms, it would also kill earthworms and everyone says it is totally safe and organic. Can't have it both ways. If it kills worms, it kills worms. Not just the ones we want it to.
