I hadnt given it much thought, but 90 percent of the crushed stone you will find around here is calcium carbonate. There is a very large quarry centrally located along the main highway that runs north and south in vt.my duck coop is leveled up with it, and I intend to put it around their pond when it goes in to keep mud holes to a minimum. I have noticed them all picking at it on occasion, at first I figured it’s just grit so whatever, now I’m wondering if my drake or non laying hens are getting something more than they need or should haven’t all.. or if this isn't a concern at all. Anyone have any insight?
