Heya;

My favourite bird is limping! She's had a series of complications (she has a third leg which is hanging off of her body and a second vent and a crooked tail...), but the past few weeks she's been doing pretty well! Even asserting herself when one of the others tries to chase her away from the food. This morning, I went out, and she was limping pretty terribly! Why???? I've looked all over and I can't find any cuts/gashes/breaks (aside from the usual on her almost-amputated 3rd leg). Might it have happened overnight? Something to do with the cold (it's pretty cold down here, went down to minus 5 or something last night).

ANY IDEAS??

Right now, she's in our kitchen surrounded by food and water and love. I've put some garlic in her hot mash, and other than the limp, she's pretty alert and active.

Okay....

she may have sprained something... if you do not see any signs of bumblefoot (look at her foot pad) then a period of separation and limiting her movement to allow to heal might do the trick.
