I noticed my Brahma hen who is also molting for the first time is limping moderately. I was able to catch her and check the feet… it is swollen, kinda warm but there is no open wound to be seen on her foot….. Does this mean she doesn’t have bumblefoot?? I’m not sure what do…

If there is no scab or black spots it's likely just a sprain. I'd keep her somewhere she can rest the leg for a day or two and then reassess. (I use a large dog kennel with non-slip bedding, keep food and water in there and clean and check regularly). If she seems ok you can let her wander the yard/coop during the day, but jumping up and down from a high roost/perch could have caused the sprain and definitely wont help with the healing so I'd try and prevent that sort of activity.

I wish I had read this sooner…. I checked over all the foot…. No pain or swelling anywhere with exception to the pad of foot and spreading to the toes…. It was also quite warm…. I soaked in epson salts…. Since her roost is low, and nothing in the way to cause jumping from high locations…. I chose to try to express it… and then added ick just in case and bandaged it…. Her limp making her immobile. I will be checking it today, and am going to just let it be, keep it clean, soak in epson salts and see how she recovers. She seems to be in good spirits, the heat has resided and I can only hope for the best.

Update: She has been improving, however, the pad is still swollen, no signs of bumblefoot or sores…. I’m tempted to let her back with the flock…. She has laid only one egg while contained and She is molting as well. All three brahmas are having their first molt with losing their feet feathers most recently…. I find some of those can leave big holes, but don’t think it’s contributing to her situation.
