Is seems the are lots of limping chickens right now! I finally isolated my limping hen last week. Her foot and leg are fine. I think it is more of a joint issue in her hip. I talked to a vet and he said to keep her penned and give her low dose aspirin for 3 weeks. She definitely seems better on the aspirin. I have also been giving her a few blueberries (her favorite treat) in the morning since they are suppose to have anti inflammatory properties. The vet said to also give her a few pieces of quality cat food for the high protein to aid in healing. I went and bought some Blue buffalo kitty kibble and she won't touch it! I probably have the only hen who doesn't like cat food. Any suggestions on safe high quality protein? I am feeding her All Flock since she is off lay since the injury. Any other suggestions?
What other forms of good protein then?
