Hi everyone,
I am a very new owner of four beautiful chickens. One of my silver sussex birds has of late been limping and developed some sort of inflammation on her feet. I've looked all over the internet and I dont think it is bumblefoot (as I cant see the typical black scab/lesion). I think it might be scaly legs, however, Im not sure as she doesnt have the typical scales that are characteristics of the disorder.

I had a hen that limped so hard, no cuts or bumblefoot. I think she landed so hard on her foot. she got better like in 4 days. I didnt treat her. You can soak her foot in warm water, she will like that !

It doesn't look like scaley leg to me, either.
I would try to minimize her movement a few days by keeping her fairly confined, if possible (yet within view of the other chickens so she doesn't become a stranger), to help swelling go down. You could give her good, deep bedding, too--like pine shavings.
There is also info on the Poultry Podiatry page on website linked in my sig below on giving aspirin if you think that might help reduce swelling.
If you think there is infection involved, you can put Neosporin (the kind WITHOUT painkiller) on the swollen area of the legs & some will be absorbed. Or you can give Penicillin injections.
So many possibilities...

Thank you both for your suggestions. I will be soaking her foot in warm water and hope the inflammation goes down. If not, I will try the aspirin and neosporin method as suggested by SpeckledHills....keep your fingers crossed for me that she recovers fast as I really hate seeing the poor thing limping around! Meanwhile any other suggestions are welcome :)
