Hi all,
I have a limping chicken. I have inspected the leg and it isn't broken. the only thing I can tell is that she cannot grip with her toes. She is a free range chicken (no poisonous plants) in a back garden. I dont think separating her from the flock will help her and will cause more distress. Any ideas or links would be helpful

Ok, then there is something else that's up. It could be due to an injury, or it could be like Marek's which I have learned from @Eggcessive however i am not educated enough to speak about Marek's because I may give you wrong info and I do not want to do that. Have you checked up and down her leg for bruising or cuts?

Is she moving the leg normally, putting weight on the leg, holding it up, or does her leg seem numb? It sounds like it could be an injury to the sciatic nerve from jumping. Do you have a rooster who might have hurt her back? Are the other birds bothering her? Is she able to get to her food and water? You may want to give her 1/4 of a human super B complex tablet daily, and crate her in the evening, so she isn’t jumping up and down off a roost. Here is a good buy for the vitamin B complex:
