limping chicken

Marek's is usually what I think of first, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't rule out all other treatable conditions that can look like Marek's. If she were mine, I would treat her for Coccidiosis, de-worm with Safeguard or Valbazen, give oral calcium, vitamin E, vitamin B1 and vitamin B2. I'm on the iPad now and it's hard for me to go into detail on why, so I suggest that you research the diseases that can look like Marek's. When I get on the computer later i'll give you more detail on what I wrote.

Ok thanks for the reply. I have her on the meloxidyl from the vet and just started her on corid forcoccidiosis on the 5day treatment.not eating much crumble but eating cantaloupe and pieces of tomato when offered.

Ok this corid says mix 4oz per50gal water how much do I add for only 1gal?

The instructions on the bottle are for cattle, so ignore them, lol. The 9.6% Corid liquid dose you should use is 2 teaspoons per gallon for 5-7 days, then 1/2 teaspoon for another week. If she isn't drinking normally you should also give her some orally. Do you have any syringes? If so, what size?

They were out of the liquid but they said the soluble powder would be ok so that's what I have.

The 0.024% for Corid Powder is 1.5 teaspoons
The 0.024% for Corid liquid is 2 teaspoon.

The 0.012% for Corid Powder is 3/4 teaspoon.
The 0.012% for Corid liquid is 1 teaspoon.

The 0.006% for Corid Powder is 1/3 teaspoon.
The 0.006% for Corid liquid is 1/2 teaspoon.

And this link has these instructions:
http://www.drugs.com/vet/amprol-9-6-solution-can.html
"Poultry - as Soon As Caecal Coccidiosis Is Diagnosed, Give 0.024% Amprolium In The Drinking Water For 5 To 7 Days. Continue The Treatment With 0.006% Amprolium Medicated Water For An Additional One To Two Weeks. No Other Source Of Drinking Water Should Be Available To The Birds During This Time."

FDA recommendations:
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/animaldrugsatfda/details.cfm?dn=013-149
"Chickens
Indications: For the treatment of coccidiosis.
Amount: Administer at the 0.012 percent level in drinking water as soon as coccidiosis is diagnosed and continue for 3 to 5 days (in severe outbreaks, give amprolium at the
0.024 percent level); continue with 0.006 percent amprolium-medicated water for an additional 1 to 2 weeks."

@myfarm4579 , I just realized that you have Corid powder, not the liquid, right? Powder dose is 1.5 teaspoons per gallon for 5-7 days, then 1/3 teaspoon for 7 days.

Thank you all so much for the advice and support. Being a newbie this spring with chickens is a little scary with first sick one.
