Limping duck

I have a Silver Apple Yard duck who is limping around. She has no cut on her foot but it does look swollen. She is around 16w old.It started about five days ago. There is brewers yeast mixed in with their feed and i have been giving Vitamins in their water. Also she has clean pool water to swim in and fresh drinking water. She has not improved at all. What should i do.

if it's swollen it's probably broken. you can splint it with popsicle sticks and tape. you should separate her until it heals. house ducks can be fun my pekin had to stay inside over the winter because of a broken foot. it definitely makes a friendlier duck out of them

I had a similar situation with my khaki campbell. It turns our that her leg was dislocated and she pulled her hamstring. Unfortunately it couldn't heal properly and she will always have a limp

I would also put Epsom salt compresses on her leg two or three times a day. Don't let her ingest the E.s. it is a laxative.

I have put a dab of Traumeel on the leg at night to help with sprains and injuries.
