Limping Hen - damaged nail?

I am in Arkansas - It has been around freezing the last couple of nights but this started before that. It is looking a little better but still swollen and yellow. I have been cleaning it daily and doing the Epson bathes and antibiotic ointment. I haven't found anything she could have cut herself on - still no idea how she damaged it.

Looks like she stubbed it to me, stubbed it pretty hard too. Not too unusual for a brahma they aren't graceful at all. That nail might end up coming off, can't really see the nail bed to see how bad the actual nail is damaged. Last toe like that here was on a faverolle and I ended up poking a little hole where the swelling was greatest and coating the toe with an asprin paste "just an crushed asprin mixed with a drop or two of water". :)

I actually pulled off a bit of the nail last night - she seems to be walking a little better now as I let her out at lunch to get some sunshine. They do love flying up on things that's for sure. I have 2 hens and they are always the first to get up on things. Would the asprin paste help with pain?

Yes it would help, it will also draw the fluid out from the swelling and make the toe feel alot better in that sense.:)
