Hi all.

So I have a 5.5 mo/ pullet -- little frizzle EE -- that is limping pretty bad. She was fine yesterday and we haven't been home today to see if she woke up this way or hurt herself.

I caught her and checked her over. No evidence of mites. No injuries at all, not even a scuff mark. Her nails aren't too long. I stretched her legs out and both felt normal and she showed no sign of distress, but she is limping pretty hard when she walks and I have zero clue why.

Can chickens pull muscles? Can they sleep in one position too long? She and her pullet friends like to stay tucked up on the porch during the day on the concrete because it's cool....she's never limped before. We just sprayed the coop with bug spray and everything for issues with one of my older hens and literally everyone else is and has been fine.

All birds except the roo are vaxxed for Mareks. I've seen bumblefoot in videos and such and she literally has NOTHING at all -- she appears completely normal.

Really unsure what could be happening.

So sorry you didn't get a reply! How's she doing?
She most likely sprained it or something, I'm sure she'll be okay. I had a hen who was suddenly limping badly, I had her in a dog crate for 6-8 weeks to heal. She was left with a slight limp but she healed and is doing well! I say just keep her off her leg and let her rest, if possible.
