Hello,
My quail was looking quiet yesterday but I'm pretty sure she was walking without any issues. Today she was limping and so I picked her up and checked her over. The leg she limps on is very swollen and red where the tibia is. There's a puncture mark too. Is this likely an infection? Because it's so swollen, It's hard to feel for breaks. She's normally very friendly but since I've brought her inside she has started attacking me, I think it's because it's painful.
I am taking her to the vets today but I thought I'd post here first for an opinion.
edit - I just phoned our local vets and they said they don't deal with birds normally, they said they were happy to look at her and give her antibiotics and painkillers but they're not experienced...
Is there anything I could do from home or does she need a vet?
