Limping Rooster

How in the world do you give a rooster or chicken antibiotics? I just hope the vet doesn't cost a lot.
Orally or injections.
Very common.
Bumblefoot is an infection.
He will probably cut open the bottom of the foot to get all the puss out then wrap it up nicely and scribe antibiotics.

Thanks for posting the photos.

I'm glad you have a vet that will see him. It looks like he has some Scaly Leg Mites in addition to the Bumblefoot.

Read up on Bumblefoot and Scaly Leg Mites as suggested by @KikisGirls Going to the vet can be hectic, so try to ask as many questions as possible about treatment, duration and follow up. It would be nice if they sent people home with a sheet of what was discussed and what at home care needs to look like.

Please do let us know what the vet says and keep us posted.

Ok, I'll let you know. Hopefully the vet will send him him with detailed instructions on how we need to take care of him.

He had bumblefoot and it was too far advanced. He would have been on antibiotics, pain meds, in alot of pain, and the vet said it would be better off to put him to sleep. Plus we don't know how to medically take care of chickens. Bunnies and cats yes, chickens, no. He was a great guy. If you know of anyone that has australorps or orpingtons in Colchester please let me know. Thanks.
