Hello. My bantam rooster has been limping for 4 days now. He is 7 months old. I don't see any sign of injury or bumblefoot. The "injured" leg is much warmer than the other leg. He and a couple of others might have a slight case of scaley leg mites. I started treating the whole coop for that just in case. I also started giving him penicillin. That is all I had access to quickly. The only thing that looks a little strange on both of his legs is that where the feathers attach to his legs is red. Am I missing something? What else should I be doing? He isn't worse or better at this point.

Not really. I switched to food without calcium and I gave him extra vitamin A and E for a couple of weeks and by the end of the bag of new food he was fine. It could've just been a coincidence though. I have just now switched back to layer feed, and we haven't noticed a problem yet, but I'm guessing if that was the problem it will take another week or two before we see an issue.
