Limping

There is some very minor Bumblefoot going on there. To prevent it from becoming more of a problem, I would try soaking her feet in Epsom salts, or water with an added antiseptic for a few days to loosen up the area, as well as disinfect, then try to peel that little scab off in the middle with a pair of tweezers and squeeze any puss out/if present. Depending on how it looks aftewards, the area may need to have gauze wrapped around, and bandaged for a few days until the sore heals.
One of my friends who has owned ducks said to soak it in epsom salt and iodine. Is that correct?

I had a similar problem with my duck. When I noticed him limping, I suspected bumble foot so I began to soak his feet in epsom salt every day. I did that for over a week with no improvement and no visible lesions on his foot. (I am an inexperienced duck owner so I wouldn’t know bumblefoot if I saw it). I then brought him to the vet for his limp where they told me he does not have bumblefoot. From there they took a blood sample and x-ray where they discovered that he had a bone infection from consuming a small piece of metal as a baby. He was unable to pass it so it remained in its body and imbedded itself into the top of his femur. This caused the infection, pain, and limping. He had been on antibiotics and pain medication and is doing much better. If bumblefoot treatments don’t work, I would bring him/her to the vet.
I hope that helps!

Is this ok for the antiseptic? My mom said it’s pretty much like Neosporin but I wanted to check with you guys before I put it on.
