Line breeding

Hi,
are there any good books out there about line breeding? For chickens would be great!
I bought a book in German that basically just scatched the surface. I'd like to get some more information. Any advise?

Only employ if bird you a line breeding back to has characteristics you desire. Otherwise get a better bird, or be prepared to use inbreeding to get a bird suitable for line breeding back to.

Thank you! That is a good point.
My birds are definitly good enough for line breeding. As a matter of fact, they come from a breeder who has been doing line breeding with his show birds for over 30 years. The birds I bred from them this year are fantastic. Of course you always have to sort thru and pick the best.
