Your interpretation of my previous statement backwards. To paraphrase my statement, line-breeding does the same thing as stabilizing selection. It conserves variability of founding idividual so long as that individual is bred back to with potential of multiple generations of breeding back to that individual. As soon as that individual drops from breeding pool and is replaced by a decendent, some alleles are lost which has same affect as classical inbreeding. Continued breeding to that individual this preserves variation within that individual until it is in turn retired.
