Liquid in the air cell

Even a dead embryo will move as a result of the egg being tilted. In contrast, a live embryo moves in such a way that you can see specific movements, a foot moving, the chick making movement patterns instead of the whole body moving in response to the egg being tilted. If you are seeing definite movement patterns, give it the benefit of the doubt. However, I'd be giving it the sniff test every day, and ditch it if it starts to smell "dead."

Its definitely moving on its own. If the egg is held still, you can see kicking and other movements. I am checking it every day and watching it very closely.

It's day 21/22 today isn't it?
It may be worth making a small hole in the shell in the middle of the air bubble and drain out the liquid so it doesn't drown when it internally pips. I have had this happen before and that's what I did. It worked for my one.

:goodpost:
I noticed you keep saying 'embryo or embryos'...what makes you think there might be two? That could have something to do with the water in the air cell, I guess.

When we candled it as it was developing, it looked like a double yolker and it is at least twice the size of my other eggs. There may only be one in there I don't know. Does it need the liquid? I can certainly put a hole in it.

It doesn't look like the baby has filled up the egg as much as it should yet. I can still see veins and things but I see the liquid move when the baby moves when im holding the egg perfectly still

No, it didn't even cross my mind this time around and now im kicking myself for not having pics. I will see if I can get video tomorrow morning. I usually have help but things have been crazy the last several weeks.

Can't do video this morning. Have an egg Pipped in the incubator. If the other egg is still alive after this one hatches, I will poke a hole in the air cell end.
