Lisa... sad news

Lisa,

All of my babies are dead. I don't know what happened. They were fine yesterday morning and my son found them all dead yesterday after school. They were all intact so nothing killed them. And they were all acting just fine. Eating and drinking fine. The only thing I can think of is maybe they got too cold.

We are really mourning the loss of Helmut and Mohawk Man.

It wasn't any colder yesterday than it has been on any other day. All of the 4 month old siklies in there with them are all fine. I'm guessing that the older Silkie's made them stay in front of the coop (by the door since that is where we found them) where it is a bit colder and they hogged the warmth from the light for themselves.

The new brooder my DH is building for me won't have the same problem! It will be warm enough in there no matter where they are in the coop.
