Technically there is no Large Fowl breed called a Silkie in the U.S.
Most likely what you saw was over sized hatchery type Silkie.

[Boggy Bottom Bantams]

There's a man in TX with LF silkies. Not big bantams, Large Fowl silkies, talking 7 pounds plus. They were on ebay actually a few years ago. I bought a few, only got a couple to hatch. They grew into monsters. Has since sold all my silkies off though. So like anything else, they are here just not common
