I don't think I get tired of a breed, I just see another one that I really have to try. That is how I ended up with so many breeds. It was hard to take care of that many different breeds for me. We had pens set up all over the place, and I had to carry feed everywhere. I couldn't have containers of feed near the pens because they were set up inside the other livestock's pastures. Which also made it hard to feed with horses, goats, sheep, cattle, donkeys, llamas, emu, etc...all trying to take the feed buckets away from me!

I decided to cut down on the number of breeds and increase the number of chickens per breed. That way I can keep feed near the chickens and have larger pens, so I can now care for a larger number of chickens in less time because they are in fewer pens.
DH always installed water faucets near all of the pens, so I never had to carry water...Thank Goodness!!! I have 30 something chicken pens. It used to be more than that, we sold some and took some apart to use materials for other things.

Anyway, I like try new breeds to see what I like the best. My problem is...I like them all best!!!! I need good layers, so I'm concentrating more on them right now. I loved the OEGB though. I had a Fawn Golden Duckwing rooster that would ride on my shoulder while I did chores. He would sit on anyone's shoulder and talk to them.

I guess everyone has their own reasons for changing out breeds.
