listless and inactive 3 day old pullet :(

I'm so sorry.

I have lost several chicks this week and it's heartbreaking. Hang in there and things will get better.

When I got my babies from the feed store, the guys that work in there told me there is generally about a 20% loss rate, no matter what. So if you get 10 you will lose 2... just expect it. I had one go downhill about a week after I got her. She just wouldn't eat much and never ran around with the other ones. I had no clue what to do so I went to the feed store and they basically said there is nothing you can do. (This is before I knew about BYC- I didn't even know there was vitamins or electrolytes or anything). Anywho- I was at a loss what to do, but raise baby kittens so knew she had to eat and be warm... I made sure she was uner the heat lamp, and I also made a little "gruel" of chicken food mixed with honey and water. I used a syringe and fed her 3cc's very slowly 2x a day... well I don't know how she did but she made it!!!
