Litter question

Hi everyone, my chicks are two weeks old and am putting them in a larger brooder- is it safe to use litter with them now? or should they still be on newspaper?

Litter is fine. They should never have been on newspaper.

Thanks, i had read somewhere they would eat it, causing problems- so i had newspaper and a hand towel so it wouldn't be slippery... they are grabbing pieces of litter and racing all over- a riot to watch!
