Litter

I've had it in there for there first four weeks, they are in the house at the moment and the bottom is lined with a card board sheet and then newspaper with pine shavings on one half. Is having litter in the brooder a must or can i do away with it for now and them just have paper???

Never mind BYC friends, I broke down and just put it in there anyway. They looked so bored w/o it, I couldn't take it.

It's messy, but I think it's easier to clean up the poo. Their poop seems to absorb pretty well in it. Much better then newspaper. That's what I think anyways.

Gives the chicks something to read--same reason I take the morning paper into the bathroom with me.
