We where getting ready to head to town to pick up a foster dog from the shelter today but decided to go ahead and call first. I get shuffled from the manager to someone who seem to have some kind of clue as to what I'm talking about. Eventually she remember who she was talking to and them said. . . . We are going to the pumpkin festival this weekend and are going to take him with us because he is the only small dog we have and he will get adopted. He may even get adopted before the event, thanks tho. Are you kidding me [IMG] Yesterday you where taking 10 minutes to thank us and tell us how happy you are we are doing this and this morning you blow us off, for what, the Money? This is the 4th time they have pulled crap like this on us.

The first time is when we went to look at a beautiful Pit Bull. This poor girl had been there her whole life ( she was 5!! ) they told us she was aggressive, would eat cats, kill dogs, harm children. I have seen aggressive dogs this wasn't her we where going to take her but they knew we had a dog so they told us no. 6 months later they have pictures of her on there facebook page playing with other dogs having a great time, we went back, she was already adopted.

The second was another pit bull that had been abused. He was super sweet went to find out more about him. Then they fed us some crap how he was going to orlando to be on some TV show so he wasn't available. We find out from a friend 2 months later that he didn't go anywhere, was put up for adoption, and adopted.

The third time was when we wanted to get our dog micro chipped. They had us write our name and number down and told us they had to have at least 20 dogs on the list before they would do the clinic. We said thats fine, so we waited, and waited, nothing. They call us the day after they have the clinic to tell us that we missed it. How is that helpful?

Now with this last dog, one thing I can say for sure is that I'm done I don't want to deal with them anymore. I'm not going to let there be a 5th time. I don't understand what they have against us [IMG] They always seem to blow us off, or am I just reading to much into it?

    End of rant [IMG]

Sorry that this is happening to you.... [IMG] they seem to have some serious management problems over there...
I have always gone by the saying 1st time shame on you, 2nd time shame on me and there isn't a third chance..... These people really don't seem worth your time from the sounds of it. Is there another shelter or rescue that you could help out?

I wouldn't take it personally. It could be many things. Poor management, poor organization...or yeah, they could have sort of illogical beef with you. It certainly has happened before. There are some shelters and rescue groups I will not give my money too. Sounds like this may be one you can skip out on.

The place was pretty bad before I wouldn't even go over there. They had some shady looking volunteers, and having these kind of creepy guys staring at you could get very uncomfortable. They just recently did a revamp of staff and the facility ( it could still use work, but progress ) including a new manager. Everyone else says they love them and they where very helpful and had no issues with them. At first I figured that it was just a mistake but after 4 different times now I think it's just us [IMG]

My Mom and me foster for our Animal Control and have had no issues with them, but there is a new women there who I guess is just helping them out? I really don't know, but she has taken over the show there. If there is a dog we are talking about fostering she quickly jumps in and tells the animal control officer that they need to hold on to that one for this or that reason. Which is making it impossible for us to help/foster. I would love to know who she is, she comes in and tells them what they need to do, how to decorate for the holidays, ect [IMG] I know she is just trying to help but it just seems to be an uphill battle for us to help them out anymore. That's why we figured we would try the shelter but that didn't work out any better [IMG]

Bless you for trying to adopt a dog from the shelter. And willing to take in a dog down on it's luck, a pit at that. Seriously. There are so many dogs out there that need a good home. Please don't give up. I would try a different shelter. I drove 5 hours to Medina OH and adopted the bestest dog ever. Unfortunately, bad management can happen in shelters too and the dogs are the ones that pay the price.

Well it happened again, and it is really starting to upset me [IMG] We were supposed to foster a dog at animal control if he didn't get adopted today at there adoption event. Well he didn't get adopted but they put him into foster care with someone else! [IMG] [IMG]

    I give up [IMG]

Don't deal with them anymore. Write them off from your "foster" list. Time to look for another shelter that would be more than happy to take you on!

ya i foster for a rescue too and she doesnt remeber half the dogs she has. and we are fostering a cockapoo puppy right now and yesterday she emailed me saying she didnt want to remove dog from our home so she decided to leave her with us free unless we wanted to donate $200, and that she removed the dog from all websites and sent adoption paperwork in mail. I DONT WANT ANOTHER DOG!!!! we already have 2 and we might have to put one down soon
