We have a 110 gallon reef tank....we've had it for nearly 10 years, and we love having it. Late in this last fall, we had a die-off of all the livestock except a few mushroom corals. My husband unknowingly created a release of anaerobic bacteria, and everything died. *sigh* One of the fish was from my original saltwater tank started 13 years ago!

We are now re-building everything up, but it can't be done overnight...so here's what we've put in this month (not my photos - I'm too sick to be motivated to get out my camera).

Arrow crab....so "out of this world" and he/she is always out and about. LOVE these!

Two bulb tipped anemones:

The anemones are for the two false percula clown fish:

and for the two anemone shrimp (same kind of symbiotic relationship as the clownfish have witht the anemone);

One goby to sift sand (and make sure that anearobic bacteria cannot build up....

And a bandec coral shrimp:

I'll take some pictures of ours when I feel better....here's how it looked prior to the apocolypse:

Nice set up! I have a small 29 gallon Fish only with Live Rock salt tank. Just a true clown percula and a purple firefin goby in there now. I can't seem to keep inverts alive in it! Grrr. But the fishies are pretty.

Just your basic hermit crabs and snails. Everything checks out just fine on the test kits, specific gravity is fine, I use deionized water because our well water is super hard (the cichlids love it, the other tanks not so much), temp is good. There's about 30-35 lbs of live rock in there. Running 2 mini powerheads for water movement, plus a hang on filter which is mainly there for extra current, and a protein skimmer.

The two fish are doing great. Crabs and snails die off within a few weeks. Been afraid to try anything else, 'cause the saltwater critters are more pricey. I don't mind that, but I don't want to pay for something that's just gonna die.

Pretty!!! I want to get one set up again soo bad!
That spider crab looking thingie is NOT allowed in my tank though!!!
