Little coughing and a tiny bit of nasal discharge

Well I acquired a 4 months old pair of Mille Fluer D'Uccles yesterday. They had been vaccinated and were never near sick birds. But the little rooster has a small cough and a bit of nasal discharge. I contacted the guy I got them from and he said he didn't know what it was because his flock is clean and all his birds are vacinated including this pair I got. He told me it could be a reaction to all the dry heat and dust were having in Oklahoma and to mix apple cider vinager with the water and that will clear his nasal passage. He has no birds that are sick and I don't either so I am about stumped on this. Could it be from the dust? I also listened to the bird breathe and there is no gargling or and problems with the lungs. Thanks

Anyone? I called him and told him that if he isnt better in 24 hours hes coming to get him and giving me my money back. As I was told the were healthy and promised it.

Poor guy, I am battling this as well with a new hampshire pullet same age. I am giving duramycin-10 and probiotics, This may not be the treatment for you but this is what helps my birds when one gets a respiratory illness. you van also try yougurt with active cultures and do a serach on here for symptoms and see what other suggestions you can find.. I have a few d'uccle, mille fleur, love them

Well, The low life I got them from now wont answer my calls, emails, or texts. So he clearly knows that the birds had something goin gon. I have them in theyre own cage as i never miss brids until quarinted for 30 days and even then sometimes I don't. But I am hoping its the weather. I have them on the other side of the barn and everything. Also changing clothes and washing hands before I go mess with my other babies just to be safe. But they a so nice. They are literly top notch d'uccles, mille fleur. They are so beautiful and out of showing parents. I just hope that its a reaction to the dry heat here. But I think its CRD. I decided I will give them one more week. And if its not better I am going to have to go out and ask dad to put them down and burn them. I really don't want that though. I will cry but. If its CRD I have no choice. I have show birds ar my place and I have no time and or disire to deal with sick birds to be honest.

Are they showing any other signs of sickness? If the babies are not used to dust or maybe even the same bedding, its possible for that to be a problem. They do get respiratory problems easily.

A VERY little amount of nasal discharge between clear and yellowish. And the little rooster has a cough. And a tiny gargle. I have only heard the gargle once since I had him. And its quiet you cant hear it unless your ear is on his chest but it isnt reg. Like he only gargled once ir twice in 3 days.

Sounds respiratory, I recomend duramycin -10 you can get it at places like orschlen, tractor supply, not sure what you have near you. It is inexpensive and does a fast job for my birds with respiratory problems. Think I spent $4

okay. Dont you mix that in the water? And will they get better and produce eggs normal?

Yea its a powder mix 2 tsp per gallon of water. I sometimes make up 2 cups of it which is 1/8 tsp for 2 cups and use that to soften some of there crumbles or even make it up in the waterer and pull out a small amount to moisten a small amount of food, mine LOVE moistened food everyone gets moistened food (nonmedicated for everyone not sick)
If it is not anything too big this stuff should do the job, once they start feeling better I would hold them seperate than the other birds for a couple weeks just to make sure it is all gone..
