little feathered genuises!

Oh boy that's a good question!! I think it would depend on if their were any that needed rescuing more then the others (ex. Smaller cages, crueler conditions, sickness) all things being equal hmmmm
Maybe equal amounts of both? I would have to say "sorry not rescuing you cuz of your breed" but HAVING to choose one breed reds!
I have one and she follows me everywhere even tried to get in my car with me:)
I would take one look at them and think of my little chickaletta and my heart would break!

I think I'd pick Leghorns, this may be racist, I don't know, but I LOVE the way white chickens look!:D But I'd probably get both, too. Because each and every breed of chicken deserves a home! I hope some people don't just buy them for cheap meat...That'd be sad:( But if you ever rescue them let me just tell you before hand it is worse than going into a shelter, because shelters at least really try to care for their animals, but the chickens are hard to watch, so beware if you decide to rescue some. I feel tears would come to every fewers eyes to see them abused in such ways.

Hahahaha well maybe but I am to then because I think they are beautiful birds as well! ;) I would like to look into it but I'm scared I couldn't handle it:( but I think I might suck it up it would fill my heart to give some of those ladies a home!

Yeah, even though it's heart breaking to see such a think you'd still save helpless lives of adorable, sweet hens!:) I probably will too, but never forget going into one of those places again. It'd be hard, but so worth it.

My friend had a blue and gold macaw. They said it had the intellect of a four year old child. Birds and blooms, had an article once, about the intellect of crows and problem solving abilities. They set a glass milk bottle out, now the opening is very small. This bottle was then filled half way full. The Crow could not drink from the bottle. The water was too far down, way below the neck of the bottle. But what they discovered was that the crow, over the period of an hour, would fly a distance to acquire pebbles. It had the problem solving abilities to figure out, that by placing pebbles into the bottle it would raise the water level high enough for it to drink from. That is not a natural behavior, nor was it taught. It used its logic of matter displacement to achieve its goal, of getting a drink. Very higher reasoning for bird. But what I found more amazing is that it choose to do so freely. To invest an hour of it's time, when surely there was water that was easier to drink, without all the work. The crow choose the mental challenge for the eventual pay off, the water. Pretty awesome right?

Sorry, but that's an old Greek fable. I remember it being told to me in elementary school.

Give me time, I'll find the issue and post the month, an issue number, so you can look it up and read it yourself. Unfortunately it's in boxes of magazines, it may take a little while. It was definitely a year and a half ago, that they had that article.

Again, everyone, I am sorry for being rude, if people are still offended!
