little giant 9300

Yes it is, this one is white. The one that pipped on its side, is breathing I can see its beak but no zipping yet. Another egg has a small pip but that's it. I can hear chirping in some of the others I think that's a good sign they pipped into air cell. Kind of surprised how spaced out they are from hatching. This evening marks day 20, so hopefully Saturday the rest will hatch. Hard to believe such a big chick came out of that little egg! About ready to put her, wishful thinking, into the broader. She seems to be panting at times, like she needs a drink.

i would get another person to lift the topup just enough for u to grab the chick.

Trying to wait, don't want to put chick in brooder by itself, that is a good idea. What do you think about the side pip egg Bama? It's beak is sticking out but it's not rotating or zipping, should I leave it for now? It just looks like it's stuck.

bgirl i dont want to tell u wrong. I just started my 2nd hatch. My last hatch, i had 1 with a pip and he was chirping. I could see him breathing. I figured it would make it out on its own. It wasnt alive the next morning. I felt like i could have helped it out but who knows. Whats ur humidity running and are u hatching flat or in egg cartons?

I've got murder mama drama over here, my broody killed another chick when it hatched. I wasn't there to save it.

So now my incubator is sharing space with three peeping and rocking eggs. I hope a couple days of elevated humidity won't hurt them!

I've got them in the cartons and humidity is between 65-70% , I pulled a bit of the shell off above side pip towards the air cell, if I had to guess I would say this chick is malpositioned and the inner membrane appears tight, just not rotating at all on its own, I think it's feet are above its head. The joys of shipped eggs? Going to wait a bit longer than chip a bit more of shell off. Is it normal to have one hatch a day earlier than others?

Oh no, sorry! Mean old Broody, future dinner?! The high humidity is good for hatching around 65%. Sounds like they're ready to go anytime, good luck!

I had the 1s closest to the heating element hatch on day 20. They hatched up until day 23. I did eggtopsy on day 24 and 1 was trying to breath. Im sure my hatch would have been better if i would not have kept taking the hatchlings out. I opened the bator about 15 times during hatch

Good to know! I did it peeled more of the shell back no blood, so I kept going, it was upside down with its head stuck under its wing. It pushed itself out the rest of way, everything's good resting now, it does have a big lump on top of its head, I think this is what vaulted means. It stood up a couple of times than flopped for a nap. First chick pecked at it a bit then went back to napping on the other pipped egg. Thinking the days of temperature spikes might of made these chicks grow slightly larger than normal. I'm tired now enough excitement for the day, LOL! Now time for BBQ and fireworks, happy independence day!
