The third egg to pip stopped chirping and was not moving so I opened it, perfectly formed no blood and belly closed. Makes me wonder if it was shrink wrapped and kicking myself for not intervening sooner, it pipped in the right spot though not like the side pip. Nothing else is happening now. There are eight eggs still, I hope a couple more hatch.
Actually now that its starting to dry out I see its a wheaten marans (feathered feet). No pips from the other two yet. I hope at least one hatches so this little guy has some company.
Well the other two rescued eggs have gone totally quiet unfortunately, they may be gone. I tried. Looks like this little guy will have to wait another week for some company.
Were they peeping? I'd be half tempted to pip into their air cells and see if you can see any movement. I'm about ready to do that to the eggs with the sideways air cells here. Figure at this point it's not going to hurt to check.
One was peeping and rocking. After a full day of silence I did an eggtopsy. One stopped developing many days ago, I must have imagined that one peeping. And the other one that was rocking was fully formed but hadn't pipped, not sure what went wrong, wondering if it just ran out of air, the shell was very hard to get through even with metal tweezers.
