little giant 9300

@only1bgirl thanks, I think I will definitely get a turner for next hatch but its good to know Miller plans to come out with a fan, I can add that next year.

Im planning to make some changes this next hatch. I have an old laptop and plan to try to use the fan from it somehow.

I think that's a good idea, the fan in mine is not very strong, so I really do not think its keeping an even temperature through out. Candled tonight and the eggs closest to the heater/fan appear to have quit and have that cooked look. The ones further down the line look full already and a couple more not. I thought maybe they quit but I could see the chick moving. I'm going to buy the small fish tank thermometers so I can put four in there to test the heat distribution better. Looks like about eight still might hatch, if I can keep the heat in check. What humidity should I aim for at lockdown? Been running in the low forties.

I think the idea behind the weak fan is that a stronger fan would dry out eggs too fast. I can't imagine a chick trying to hatch getting blown with hot air would be good.

I aimed for around 60% during lockdown.

Removed the turner and five quitters. If and when I do this again I'm going to mark heat spikes, I've had three or so this time. Have eight eggs left and 3 of them are wobbling around, I laid them on their sides this time and the fat ends seemed to rise up. Lockdown has begun. Added water humidity is at 58% now hope it stays there or drops a bit. I'll be happy if three hatch since I can only have five hens here. Hoping for hens! I'll post results soon. Hope everybody is having a good labor day weekend too!
