That's great news! What a relief!

I have a small LED Mini-Mag Lite. Changed the batteries in that puppy and I could candle eggs through the window of the incubator, if I got it aimed just right. It was so cool! Then I started thinking "I hope I don't blind these guys with this, its sooo bright!" But they came out fine, thank goodness. I admit to my candling addiction, and I must have 15 of those little cheapie flashlights that the stores stick up front by the counter. They get me every time! But that Mini-Mag is awesome!

I used my husband *super Light* It is small like those at the the cash register ... but has 3 different settings......dim-bright-and blinding... I used blinding.. and hopefully didn't cause any damage to their retina's !!

Really hoping for a good hatch this time... No Shrinkwrapping.. No Shrinkwrapping...Say it with me...

My husband made me an actual Candler last night out of extra cedar he had from his chairs! Tonight I am going to candle my BCMs and Isbars for day 7. I hope it works for the BCM eggs. I need to get a light bulb and check it out.

Here is what it looks like. The top is cyprus because he did not have a piece big enough for the top. I also added an Isbar egg that I candled with it. Does it look fertile? LoL! I am so new I just want to make sure.

I like it. So you just plug it right in to an extension cord? The felt is a great idea, I have access to tons of that stuff. I'm considering making a new one, so I appreciate the ideas. But I like to candle with the light on top, and don't like to flip the egg (I know it doesn't hurt, I'm just weird lol) so I'm working on a design to have the light above. Probably just like your box, only flipped, with an extra section, like 3 sided, to be able to insert the egg into, then raise the egg to the light above. If that makes any sense lol

So the Isbar egg is on day 7? I can't really make out any blood vessels, but maybe its just the pic or my eyes! Best of luck with them! Keep us posted please

I didn't flip the egg. Was I supposed to? I just stuck the pointy side down. The room was not dark at all. So that's why I am waiting until tonight to see it better. Yes he bought an adapter so it can just plug straight into an extension cord. He lined it with felt to help the egg settle and stop any escaping light.
