wait a sec... lemme see If I got some pics on my blog....... if not maybe on my cell hrm..........

I too used to hate my LG - never seemed to stablize for too long at any one time.
I took the top of my LG, chucked out the bottom and now use the top with the bottom of a syrofoam box from some shipped salmon we got at Xmas. It's much a more stable & regulated temperature and humitiy stays up.
I put the vent holes in the box bottom, added a fan (using the PC fan and charger hook-up) made a wire shelf for the hatching eggs. & humidity is handled by water in the bottom in ziplock container.
Now I don't hate it.

we'll hold you to it you know.... aint no body misses nuttin around here.

KK, here's some older pics. Inside I've mounted a hygrometer/thermometer (2nd one, not electronic on purpose) as well as an induction fan from a laptop including heat sink and small duct. Not shown is wooden knob drilled 15/16 and GENTLY placed over the little red knob. If you whomp out the hole while drilling a drop of elmer's does the trick. Please forgive the pics, a photographer I'm not!

I use an analog hygrometer myself. As for the thermo that comes with the LG's - toss it. Get a reptile or aquarium unit and use water weasel set up.

Oh yeah, the thermo's that come with those are junk!!! The analog's are my backups

So your fan is mounted on the side? I took a new 80 mm pc fan and mounted it on the underside next to the heating box. Maybe I have the fan in a bad spot? I am gonna have hubby get a wooden knob...that looks like just the ticket.

Actually you dont want the fan to blow directly on the eggs, if you can help it. The problem is these LG's have such a small internal volume, you cannot avoid it. I make a diverter so the fan blows the air around the chamber, circulating it.
That is the intent - to circulate the air, not blow it on the eggs.
