Little Giant Incubator Tricks

Quote:
That's exactly what I said not too long ago on another thread. I think these people who get the fancy incubators that do everything for them are not so great to start out with. I mean, if you are incubating parrot eggs, Yeah I understand. I think that every starter should get a Little Giant incubator. If you have never hatched I don't recommend the sportsman cabinet incubators either. I think that starting out with the "not so good incubator" means that you will REALLY appreciate the one's that are "set and forget." After 5 years with my Little Giants I got an Rcom Mini digital incubator. The humidity is way too high in it for me. I have gotten two to hatch out of 4. The others that I set were infertile.

I incubate in my cabinet incubator and hatch in my LG and Hove-Bator styrofoam incubators. Works great for me. I originally incubated in my styrofoams.

OOPS!!! The first chick just hatched! I must have forgotten the day I put them in the incubator.

Another possible source of error was that I gathered a few eggs each day and left them at room temperature until I got all the eggs I wanted for the run of the incubator. I don't recall exactly how long that took either.

Next time I'll keep a log book and write the dates on the egg shells.

I use a calendar. Works great. This was last months calendar.

The second chick started peeping from inside the egg today. A multi-day gap.
