Little Giant Incubator Tricks

It has taken many many years of trial and error. Mostly I do staggered hatches and I do sometimes hatch for friends. I sell most of the males and just keep the ones I want for breeding and showing at poultry shows. I do sell some of the pullets but also keep the ones for potential breeding and showing. I grow them out so I can see how they are developing.

Youhave some really nice looking RIW. Do you sell any fertile eggs?

I will be setting up my breeding pens pretty soon and moving birds around to the pens I want to put them in. I usually don't have anything until spring.

That's fine. Need to get away from LG incubator. (Going to build one myself) so spring would be fine with me. May- June would work for me. Would like some close-ups of RIW's would be great.
Thanks

I have an LG with an autoturner, but I only run half of the rails, so only 21 eggs at the time. My last hatch was 6 chicks, the one due this week is 5. I have a very small operation here, only 16 birds total, 2 roosters :). So far the incubator has worked well!

Had mine for 3 years (set eggs once each spring) and has done the job. My complaint is that the styrofoam getting a little beat up, never looks clean enough, and the temp will stay steady just before lock down the it'll start jumping around.Don't get me wormy, I had some good hatches... but it can be nerve racking sometimes.

Some people do think it's broke and sell it!!! I find my LG pretty easy to use now that I know it is strongly effected by the environment that it is in.
LOVE reading all this thread.. will be my first time hatching soon as my incubators are ready. I have a cooler homemade one I'm working on today with Rush Lanes pattern and also going to try the LG because I can afford that one and add a fan from computer we don't use anymore. I think I can do this!!

Arielle, I paid attention to your trials especially because I am really interested in hatching turkeys. :D

Okay folks I'm getting my second lg for my Bday march 10th so far I have had great success with this incubator and the way I see it if I don't get a different one the lg is all I will know:) my Bday incubator will have a turner in it so woohoo anyone else get as excited about their incubators as me
