Aw, I'm so sorry! You didn't do anything wrong! You did everything right. You put forth a shining effort to save him! He probably had other issues (like you said, he hadn't pooped so he probably wasn't internally sound), so it wasn't your fault in any way. You gave him a little extra time. So kudos for trying! He's in chicken heaven now.

Cherlyn, I'm sorry your little one passed. You did the best you could. Can't ask for more. Hind sight is 20/20. Not many people would have tried so hard to help the little one along. Bless your heart

Sorry to hear about your little guy. I've never had the experience (don't have chickens yet) but I think you did a great job. Getting advice on a tough problem and all. Plus doing it with a 6 month old baby. Wow talk about sleep deprived. I think that it just wasn't meant to be. Maybe his insides didn't develop properly. You went above and beyond. Oh I am so sorry!!! I just now checked this thread. Please don't feel any guilt. You did what you thought was best and then did everything humanly possible to save this baby. You are a wonderful person for all you did. There is not a person on here who has not made mistakes along the way and we will all continue to make mistakes. Because of you sharing this with all of us, someone else may be able to save their chick. Thank you and again, I am so sorry.
