Live chick in trouble - graphic pics - help!

I'm so sorry, Just know I think I speak for all os us when I say, you did what you could, most probably would have given up day 1, at least you gave the little guy a chance. Don't blame yourself.

don't be too hard on yourself, it is a great learning experience. all seasoned hatchers have their share of losses, and these things happen. the hatching of eggs in nature separates the weak from the strong, and it is a harsh truth that we all must learn. nature does what needs to be done, as many of us know. i wish you great luck with future hatches. and you still have all your healthy chicks to be thankful for, too! i wish the best of luck to all of your healthy chicks. i think everyone who has been watching this thread can learn something from this.

I have been following this thread with high hopes. I am sorry to find out that you lost the lil bugger. But think about it this way, you did all you could to keep him going these past few days. I'm sure the chick knew you were tired and maybe he passed to relieve you of the extra stress. Its possible that the baby knew your son was getting sick and you needed to spend all energy on your son. Just a thought.

Whatever the case, the chick is in no discomfort... in his final resting state. I am very relieved that his ordeal is over.

Cherlyn, although it's sad that the baby passed, you were so fortunate to spend his brief life with him. He did his best and you did yours and in the end, that's what counts.
