This is my first start-to-finish hatch in an incubator that was successful. I did a broody hatch over the summer. Then, in November, my hens were all killed by a predator. I took the eggs out of the fridge and stuck them in the incubator, but they all died around 8-11 days in. I discovered my incubator was broken, and had to have it repaired. I got it back a few days before the eggs arrived.

I really like how easy this incubator has been. I set the temperature, and it's been totally steady. No fussing with anything. I just add water every couple days (I live in a very dry climate, so I have to work UP to 30%). My only downside to this is that it only works with 7 eggs.

Sorry, I've had some people telling me that I should help it along a little bit, it's been pipped and basically stuck exactly like this for hours. So, I took it into a steamy bathroom and removed a little bit of the shell and membrane. Then, I had issues getting the camera back up.

It should be going again.

If it doesn't hatch in 15 min, I may go help some more. I'm a bad chicken mother.

So eggciting, I just hatched my first chicks from a brinsea incubator. I was sad that they hatched in the middle of night and was not able to see my two chicks hatch. Good luck on your hatch:thumbsup
