does any one know the dressed weight is compared to alive muscovy duck percentage is

I was told that for poultry it is about a 2 pound difference between live and dressed.

I think it's closer to only a 25% difference from live to butcher weight, a 6lbs live bird should dress out to around 4lbs.

From what my experience in farming and what I have read it is something like 25% loss on a chicken, Cattle is about 40% loss after all processing (That depends also on breed an Angus will have less loss than a Holstien or a bigger boned continental breed) a hog is somewhere around 30-40 percent. Remember these numbers are live to completely dressed and packaged. There is allot of fat and bone cut out of a hog or beef once it has been aged and then cut up.

In LF/Standard chickens I'd say an average 2 lb difference.

Would this hold true for turkeys too?
34 lb. would dress out 8.5 pounds less or 25.5 lbs. at 25%

Yes !!! at least it does on my BBW's.
