and these birds are pretty noisy... especially after laying an egg.

I'm afraid my neighbors will complain, and I will have to rid of my chickens... I don't know what to do to keep them quiet... I guess all chickens make a lot of noises...


If anyone knows any tricks to keep them quiet, please chime in.

Most chickens do the "egg song" when they lay eggs. Some breeds are noisier than others. As to what you can do to quiet them, I've not found a way. Good luck, and I hope that you won't have to get rid of your girls.

I usually go out with treats if the girls are really making a racket. I always worry about neighbors too because, though our chickens are legal, we are the only people on this side of the mountain to have chickens. Hopefully rather than complaining your neighbors will enjoy the noises and just start raising chickens too. =0)
