As far as I know they are the major killer of raptors and bats. Windmills aren't necessary at all, so it's all these extra deaths for no reason. The only reason wind turbines exist at the scale they do is because they are so heavily subsidized by the government (i.e., tax payers). Billionaire Warren Buffet says there's no money in them otherwise. So all of these raptors/bats are getting killed to make billionaires rich at taxpayers'/electricity-customers' expense. Oil companies are heavily fined for one bird death, but wind turnine companies get off scot-free when they kill federally protected species by the thousands. It's not right.

They are far from silent and on a home setup very far from being Large.... Just to allow home maintenance.

A windmill like what you're thinking about won't kill birds. If it was windier where I am I would definitely have one.

I just wanted to say; I had to eat from garbage-cans in a country that pretends it is the most richs and does everything for poor people; and I have several degrees..
It went bad when I got temporarily sick at 28; but I had studied last year, was not 29, did not have children; so no social security's. They don't give "social security" over her before age 29 without a child; or when you finished a study last year.. And every lucky country that even has social security has these nonsense rules. But I overcame; untill that detal thing because garbage mostly contains sweets =/ But áfter I fix that and overcome that 1000 dollar bill I sure be fine and can start to pay off my student debt

I am so sorry for what you have endured. In a book about a poor Japanese laborer he made the choice to become homeless in a wealthy part of Tokyo because the garbage was higher quality and he was diabetic. There was a time before climate change when there was enough for everyone if it was distributed fairly. Now I’m not so sure. Best of luck to you!
