So I'm having a bit of a lizard 'problem'!!! one of my cats is the lizard queen and brings home about 1-3 everyday! Mosly blue belly lizards but yesterday she brought home something else!! (well she did bring home another blue belly that ended up in my dirty laundry also!!)

It must have slipped under the laundry room door and got inside. Well I find THIS in the brooder!! Mouth open to the chicks, and lunging at them! They were both terrified of eachother, but the lizard was showing fear aggression!! Of course instead of saving them right away I ran for the camera!!!

I think its a baby alligator lizard!! It was probably 8"-10" long!! I caught it and saved my poor scared chickies!!! then let it go in a wood pile.

The chicks would go check it out and then it would leap at them!! AHH!!!

If those chicks were a few months older I think the lizard would have been a snack.

Awww, poor little alligator lizard! He was probably terrified and trying to defend himself as best as he could. I'm glad you rescued him--he's cute!

Cats!!!! Mine is just as bad. She usually puts mice into my bathtub so they can't get away. What a bloody mess! Those are the only ones she kills. Besides that she has bought home and released: Kangaroo rats, chipmunks, snakes (always garter snakes), birds, and of course bats. Nothing more fun then trying to catch them with a cat and 4 dogs after them. What a nut house. For the bats I always have to get the large fish net we use for our koi pond.
