just make sure to remember that not all llamas will guard...
just because its a llama doesnt mean itll instinctivly guard your sheep, some llamas make great guard animals...some dont.
just to be prepared in case she doesnt turn into a guard llama.
personally i prefer donkeys (full sized) or Dogs for predator protection.
Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread* 401pg
Thats where the pictures are at. Its a thread about the addiction really on farm animals, lol.
Well Mamma has proven herself already!
I ran out hearing Coyote yelps and barking and what I guess as Llama screaming, lol. I found the Mother Llama "Mamma" striking at the coyote between two trees and a pack of three other coyotes running into my forest. Had to tie off the llama's to put down and remove the coyote. I say they work and won't worry about keeping them all out at night.
Good for the mamma! My friend recently found a flattened raccoon in her pasture. I guess that when they kill a predator that they want to be sure it's dead.
thats great news, not that she had to protect but that she didwhen needed, its aparently 50/50 with llama and ptorection, some will, some wont, sounds like you got a good one
