Nope, I broke her. One project at a time for me right now and with DH still home on sick leave, make that 1/2 a project. The babies are adorable in the brooder though.

I had no choice! I have the demon seed chickies in the brooder right now and they are all I can handle. Ever seen some week old chicks get in a knock down, drag out fight over a grasshopper? These chicks are devils I'm telling ya.

What breeds did you end up getting?

Quote:
Easter eggers - quiet birds, sometimes get in the grasshopper wars, but not always. Escape artists extraordinaires.
Salmon faverolles - also quiet. Stay out of the way of the GH fights. Think the thermometer is an alien invader that must be destroyed.
Speckled sussex - curious birds, quiet. Love grasshoppers.
Then there are the turkens. Love em and their spunky personalities. Two are already clearly the flock leaders - Ivy and Mandi. Always into trouble and so ugly they're cute.
A red silkie - runs with the turkens. I think they are a bad influence on her.
A blue silkie - just tries to stay outta everyone's way since he's so much smaller. He's hopelessly in love with a speckled sussex chick three times his size.

Great choices on breeds. My EE is an escape artist also. She's made it 7 ft to the top of the coop before. I see you caved and got the silkies!

So, when you've had them a while, you'll have to let me know how you like them.
