Loaded the bator!!! Wheeeeee!

Ok, I Know I should have done this weeks ago. Only just now doing the salt test on the hygrometer in the bag. I put 1tsp salt, and wet it (didn’t soak it) does this look right? Does it matter how big the bag is (before I waste 6h of my life on this?) lol

Should work, as long as bag isn't covering cup, might take more than 6h.

Ok, I feel like DH isn’t excited enough about this. Likely because he feeds us all. And teen free labor is also not overly excited as all she sees is eggs in a styrofoam box... but I AM SUPER PUMPED

the rainbow of chicken eggs is just too pretty. Now I need some blues, greens,
Olives....

These are some leghorn hopefully, and Ancona for the whites.

the 11 cream were shipped, settled, warmed, they are svarthona

then I had 6 blue black splash copper
Maran eggs shipped as well, also settled.

and the brown 6 are either out of my black sexlinks or my partridge rocks. I am unsure so that will be fun to find out!

Hopefully it all turns out.

How long do I leave the eggs that don’t appear to have anything going on in them in the incubator?? We are at 11 days, should I toss the ones without veins?

You sure could......if you're sure they are not developing.

In my case if I need the room by day 10 I remove clears. Some folks like to wait till lockdown on day 18 just to be sure

I removed the ones I’m pretty positive have nothing going on except One Maran egg that is just too dark for me to tell with any certainty. I have 11 eggs left in, and the air cells look way too big. I filled all the water troughs and added in a sponge. I don’t want crunchy chicks! what a mess. They are moving in there though so. Fingers crossed.
I don’t know that I’ll be trying this route again, at least shipping chicks I get fluffy chicks that are either peeping or need a priest.

Yes!! And they were EXTREMELY well packaged and all 6 are still in the bator so I’m impressed.
