Loaded the bator!!! Wheeeeee!

This is Not at all like watching popcorn pop... 😕

I have one pipped that I can see into the shell, and one more pipped that I can’t... I had a nap, I played cards, I’m driving my husband NUTS 😂
Yep my house is more organized when I’m hatching because I will start a long over due task that I know I can’t stop until finished like cleaning out cupboards or closets just to keep my hands out of the incubator. 😂

What causes crossbeak and missing eyes?

It's my understanding that high temperatures during critical periods of incubation can cause both cross beak or missing eyes but for the chick to have both when your other chicks are completely fine I think you're more likely to be contending with something genetic, bacterial, viral, something along those lines.

The other three are super Cute and I think for eggs shipped the week after Christmas, we Fared better than expected.
many eggs weren’t fertilized at all. A lot of my svarthona eggs were extremely porous. I don’t think my temps were at fault IE my home laid chick being hatched almost Exactly on time. I placed them at 7 am on the 4th and she popped out around 8:30am on the 21st day.

my little maran is Soooo FRIENDLY. My first batch of chicks that are currently laying, I got at the end of season from the ranch store they were never friendly.

These three, I sure hope they aren’t Roo’s lol (cause I’ll make them their Own coop/ Run likely to the consternation of DH)

now I want to incubate MORE! But It will have to wait until my blue egg babies get here and grow up. I won’t be hatching out anymore shipped eggs. Quite the learning experience!!
